The Courtly Arts Performers of Victoria bring alive the music, dance, gesture and theatrical arts from palaces of the medieval, through renaissance to the baroque periods. Enjoy with us the delights of these ages through our concerts, music, photos and videos… We even run occasional workshops and an annual Introduction to Renaissance dance course, if you would like to try it for yourself!

Experience French Court Dance of the Sun King, Lou

Experience French Court Dance of the Sun King, Louis XIV, and discover the intimate relationship between the dance steps and the music.
This introductory workshop will include basic Baroque dance steps and the dance forms of Courante, Sarabande, Boureé and Passepied, presented by the CAPV Baroque Dancers, using the dance suite La Bourgogne, choreographed by Louis Pécour, as a reference.

An Afternoon at Court We invite you to join us as

An Afternoon at Court
We invite you to join us as we present a cornucopia of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque dance, music and song from the Royal Courts of England, Germany, Italy and France. Featuring the Courtly Arts Renaissance & Baroque dancers and musicians, with vocalists Sarah Amos & Natalie Maroki. All performers will be in full costume, and music will be played on period instruments.
At the end of the concert, we invite you to meet the performers and take a closer look at the costumes and instruments.
