Introduction to Baroque Dance Weekend Workshop

Saturday 10^th and Sunday 11^th October 2026, 2 – 5pm, East Kew 3102

If you have ever watched our Baroque dancers and thought ‘I’d love to give that a try’, this is your chance!

Yoko and Saskia have been dancing together since 2015, and were the last baroque dance students of our founder and patron Helga Hill OAM.

In this workshop, which will be run over two 3-hour sessions, the Courtly Arts Performers invite you to dip a toe into the history, theory and choreography of Baroque dance, including:

• the origins, contemporary context and legacy of Baroque dance
• different Baroque dance styles and the steps associated with them
• choreographic notation
• learning an authentic Baroque dance

Prior dance experience is recommended, but not essential.
